Empowering women leaders through a sub-grant scheme

Location: Burgas

Country: Bulgaria

The Chance for the Children and Nature of Bulgaria Foundation, in partnership with the Municipality of Burgas, is organizing an in-person seminar titled “Community Leaders”, dedicated to women who play a key role in the development of local communities – activists, civic leaders, environmentalists, volunteers, and representatives of civil and public organizations.

The event will take place on 10 December (Wednesday) at 4 Atanas Sirekov Square, Burgas. Registration begins at 09:30, and the official opening is at 10:00. Registration is open until 5 December at the following link.

During the seminar, representatives of the Municipality of Burgas will present the SCIATUmia subgranting scheme, part of the SUBLIME SDGs project, supporting the funding of women-led projects for women in the fields of sustainable development, circular economy, social inclusion, and community impact.

Participants will learn how to apply for funding, exchange experience and ideas, and hear inspiring examples from women who lead impactful initiatives across various sectors.

SCIATUmia is the second subgranting scheme under the SUBLIME SDGs project, continuing the success of the first initiative, KAMALE, which mobilized young people to create environmental solutions and sustainable practices.

The seminar is jointly organized by the Chance for the Children and Nature of Bulgaria Foundation and the Municipality of Burgas, who continue their collaborative work on the project and their support for local communities, organizations, and citizens.
