Annual Awards for 2023

The annual awards project “Chance for the Talent” aims to support the training and performance of talented children and young people in the sciences, humanities, arts, technology as a stage in the process of continuous learning, education and development. For 14 years we have supported individual awards and distinctions for talented children and young people. Over 75 children from across the country have been honored through the Awards, Scholarships and Honors program, and 10 of them have won the Foundation’s Chance for Talent Grand Prize.

Vyara Pencheva, 7th grade, PMG “Acad. Ivan Gyuzelev”, Gabrovo


Individual monetary award for excellent performance at republican or international Olympiads, contests, competitions in the field of fine arts.

“For me, art is magic that gives me the opportunity to express my thoughts, desires and dreams. Peace, love, harmony, traditions and nature – these are the main themes in my works. I dream through my drawings to make the world better and more – beautiful. I am very grateful to the “Chance for the Children and Nature of Bulgaria” Foundation for the support it gives me so that I can develop my talent and realize my dreams!”

During the academic year 2021/2022 and 2022/2023, Vyara has won over 50 prestigious places in international and national competitions. The most significant of them are: 1. Special Award (Golden Bear statuette) – all ages – 5th International Golden Bear Award Competition (distance) – Klang, Malaysia; 2. Gold medal – “Children” category – International drawing competition organized by “Khula Aasmaan” (remote) – Pune, Maharashtra (India); 3. Award of Merit, Final Stage, International Peace Poster Competition, organized by Lions Clubs International in Chicago, USA, February 2022; 4. Grand Prix – Fine Art section – fourth age group – International Festival “Bulgarian Soul of the Holy Land” seventh edition – online – Bat Yam, Israel, 2022; 5. Platinum Award (highest honor), Youth category (up to 18 years), International Online Art Competition organized by Kalaratnam Foundation of Art Society (KFOAS), Bareilly, India; 6. Platinum Award (highest award), youth category (up to 18 years), International Annual Art Contest, organized by Kalaratnam Foundation of Art Society (KFOAS), Bareilly, India and many more.

Iva Ichevska, 11th grade, EG “Plovdiv”, Plovdiv


Individual monetary award for excellent performance at national or international Olympiads, contests, competitions in the field of musical art.

“The experience gained from my participation in various competitions, as well as the knowledge and skills accumulated so far motivate me to continue developing in the field of vocal art. Besides singing and mathematics, my other passions are foreign languages, drawing, and literature.”

During the academic year 2021/2022 and 2022/2023, Iva has over 50 prestigious awards, the most significant of which are: Grand Prix (only for the entire festival), 17-25 years – International vocal competition “HermannstadtFest” – Sibiu, Romania; Grand Prix (only) – fourth age group – Tenth distance competition “New Voices, Songs and Arts – Christmas Blessing” – Sofia; First prize (gold medal, divided) in the category “Film music” (fourth age group) – VIII Festival-competition for vocal performers “Believe, ask, you can” – Bankya; First prize (gold medal, undivided) in the “Songs of Philip Kirkorov” category, 16-19 years – IX International Festival “Stars of the World Alexandra Princess Angel” – Albena, Varna; First place (gold medal, undivided) in the category “Pop singing”, 17 – 19 years – Premiere. Presiyana Nanevska, 6th grade, “St. Patriarch Evtimius” Secondary School, Plovdiv


Individual monetary award for excellent performance at national or international Olympiads, contests, competitions in the field of musical art.

“Song is like a rainbow. Colorful, clothed in different colors, shades, feelings, emotions. The art of music gives me wings. When I start singing, I float on the highest peak of the Rhodope mountain. I sing so loudly that my song wakes up the centuries-old trees, enlivens the wind and makes the sun smile.”

In 2022 and 2023, Presiyana has many awards in the field of folk singing, the most significant of which are: Diploma of Honor – GOLDEN LYRE OF ORPHEUS from the International Competition for Music, Dance and Visual Arts ORPHEUM TALENTS; Diploma for being awarded a GOLD MEDAL from the National Folklore Competition “Shiroka Laka sings, plays and dances”; Diploma – 1st place III group, category: folklore vocal from the National Competition “Road to Glory”; Diploma – GOLD MEDAL from the 10th Balkan Folklore Championship “Euro Folk Ziva Voda” and more.

Simona Vasileva, 9th grade, PPMG “Dobri Chintulov”, Sliven


Individual monetary award for excellent performance at republican or international olympiads, contests, competitions in the field of literature.

“My motivation and ambition push me with great interest and diligent self-preparation to learn the lessons as well as lessons outside the curriculum. I have a built sense of responsibility, a desire to develop and seek new knowledge.”

In 2022 and 2023, Simona has the following significant achievements: First prize from – National competition “Live, live, invent love!” Mirage be, but make us human!” ; first prize of the 7th NC dedicated on March 3, National University of Far, Burgas, Prose category; first prize of the 8th contest for children’s drawing “My favorite hero from a Bulgarian book or fairy tale”, association “Malaga – Bulgaria 2010”; second prize from NK for author’s fairy tale “I’ll tell you a fairy tale”, Sofia; first prize of the XXIV National Competition “Cosmos – Present and Future of Humanity”, Eureka Foundation, prose category; first prize from – National Student Competition for Literary Creativity and Journalism “Stoyan Mihailovski” 2022, city of Ruse, Prose category and many others.

Teya Chobanova, 10th grade, Baba Tonka Secondary School, Ruse


Individual monetary award for excellent performance at national or international Olympiads, contests, competitions in the field of mathematics and linguistics.

“My interest in mathematics appeared when I was in a preschool group. I realized that participating in competitions is a great way to develop myself, because after each participation I learn something new – a statement, a theorem or even a whole new approach to solving. I am convinced that the results of the competitions should not be reduced to only one award or ranking. These events are connected with many emotions, meeting with talents from Bulgaria and abroad who become your good friends, discussing the tasks themselves after the competition part and improving yourself to create great and unforgettable moments.”

For 2022 and 2023, Theia has won 29 prestigious places at international and national competitions and Olympiads, the most significant of which are: Gold medal from the final round of the FMO (Fermat Mathematical Olympiad); Gold medal from the national round of SIMSO, 9th grade (Siam International Math and Science Olympiad; First place from the national round of the National Financial Literacy Competition; 4th Gold medal from the final round of the Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad (TIMO, S3 (9. class)); Gold medal from the final round of IMEC.online-International Mathematical Olympiad; Gold medal from the qualification round of AIMO (Asia International Mathematical Olympiad), ; Gold medal from the qualification round of IMOCSEA (INTERNATIONAL MATHEMATICS OLYMPIAD COMPETITION OF SOUTHEAST ASIA); WMI (Taiwan International Mathematical Olympiad) Final Round Silver Medal; AIMO (Asia International Mathematical Olympiad) Final Round Silver Medal and more.

Daria Georgieva, 9th grade, PGT “Aleko Konstantinov”, Pleven


A monetary award for talented children/youths with limited financial means who have achieved particular success in the field of literature.

“For me, literature is a meaning, a vocation, a consolation. I have been interested in it since I was very young, but I never thought that it would occupy a central place in my life. Writing is my psychologist and psychiatrist, my soul teller, my wings. I use it to know better myself and others, to analyze my every thought and feeling, which becomes my essence.”

In 2022 and 2023, Daria has the following significant awards: gold diploma (1st place) from the national competition “Change the World”; first place in the “Poem” section of the National Competition “Christmas Through My Dreams”; first place in the “Poetry” section of the XXV National Competition for Literary Creativity “Love in Us”; first place in the “Literature” section of the first international art competition “Talents of Tomorrow”; second place in the II age group in the “Poetry” section of the national literary competition “And you are in me – you, my homeland” and many others.

Marina Katsarska, 6th grade, National Technical University “Panayot Pipkov”, Pleven


A monetary award for talented children/youths with limited financial means who have achieved particular success in the field of visual arts. The award was provided by the friends of Yosif Chanov.

“Nature is my creative inspiration – the rising sun, plants, animals, and in general the beauty that surrounds us. I wish that we humans would not be so careless towards our home – the Earth, but to keep our planet colorful and beautiful, like in my drawings. This is how I perceive the world – beautiful, colorful and flamboyant and I am very happy that through the brush and the camera I can express myself and make people smile and happy. For me, photography and drawing are a continuous journey between reality and fantasy. Art is my way of expressing myself and making the world more beautiful and at least a little bit better.”

For 2022 and 2023, Marina won many awards, the most significant of which are: Laureate of the international festival “Young Talents” – 2023, Sofia, Applied Art section; First place in the regional competition “My dream profession in the future”, Pleven; Gold Prize for Best Drawing and Highest Honors from Charumela Art School, Bangladesh; Highest Honor from “Show Your Talent” International Online Competition, Bangladesh; The grand prize in the VII International Student Competition “A child was born. A son was given to us.” 2022, Sofia; golden statuette “Best Child Artist of the Year”; Second place in the XIII International Children’s Drawing Competition “I Love My Homeland”, Sofia; First prize with a single score of 92/100 points – VG (10-12 years) – International online festival of visual arts “Dali’s mustache”, Spain; First prize (Star artist) with a single score of 95/100 points – PG (11-14 years) – International online competition for children’s drawing “Sparkling Imagination 2022”; Grand Prix in Fine Art Section VII International Online Festival “Bulgarian Soul of the Holy Land”, Bat Yam, Israel; Winner of international children’s drawing competition “World Peace 2022”, Bangladesh and many more.

Nikola Katsarski, 6th grade, National School of Arts “Panayot Pipkov”, Pleven


A monetary award for talented children/youths with limited financial means who have achieved particular success in the field of visual arts. The award was provided by the friends of Yosif Chanov.

“Creation gives me great pleasure and calms me down. It makes me smile and makes me happy in the same way that my family and the kindness of people do. Topics related to ecology and the preservation of animal species are my weakness. The world is a paradise and I don’t know why we humans try to destroy it. I strive with my works to make people see the world as beautiful and colorful as I see it. Painting and creativity in general is something I can’t live without. It is with me when I’m happy and when I’m sad. It brings me great pleasure and satisfaction. It transports me to another reality. It’s my way of influencing people.’

In 2022 and 2023, Nikola won over 25 awards from international and national competitions. The most significant of them are: The highest single award from the international festival “Young Talents” – 2023, Sofia; Gold Prize for Best Drawing and Highest Honors from Charumela Art School, Bangladesh; Bronze medal from the XIV International Competition for computer drawing and collage “Creativity without borders”; The Grand Prize in the VII International Student Competition “A child was born. A son was given to us.”, Sofia; The highest award from the international competition “Tale of Sofia”, section Literary creativity; The highest award, a golden statuette “Best Child Artist of the Year”; Second place (Diamond Artist) with a score of 84/100 points in the International Art Contest SPARKLING IMAGINATION 2022, Picasso Art Contest, India; First place in the XIII International Children’s Drawing Competition “I Love My Homeland”, Sofia; Grand Prix of the VI International Festival “Bulgarian Soul of the Holy Land”, city of Bat Yam, Israel; Grand Prix of the 6th International Festival “Bulgarian Soul of the Holy Land”, Bat Yam, Israel and many others.

Dani Ilieva, 11th grade, “Vasil Levski” Secondary School, Karlovo


Individual award “Mirela Buyuklieva” for excellent performance in the field of musical art.

“Being on stage is not child’s play, on the contrary – the responsibility is huge. But in fact, I love the stage and it loves me. The success, satisfaction and positive feedback of the audience motivates me to continue doing music in the future!”

In 2022 and 2023, Dani has won the following significant achievements: Diploma for Excellent Performance, Diploma for Most Impactful Voice and Special Sound Recording Award from Karnolsky Project Studio from National Road to Glory Competition; first place at the XVII National Festival “Patriarchy”; Diploma 1st place in the nomination musical and song from a film and Diploma 1st place in the nomination folklore – authentic and processed by the IX International Vocal and Instrumental Music Competition “The Sound of Time”; Grand Prix of XX International Festival “Rising Stars”; first prize of the jury, prize of the online listeners and prize for the best text from the newspaper “Black Sea Lighthouse” from the National Competition “Burgas and the Sea”; second place from the National Competition “My Children’s Dreams” – a new children’s song by foreign text; Grand Prix from the National Competition for children’s fun song based on folklore “Golden Spring” and many others.
