Annual Awards for 2016
The annual awards project “Chance for the Talent” aims to support the training and performance of talented children and young people in the sciences, humanities, arts, technology as a stage in the process of continuous learning, education and development. For 14 years we have supported individual awards and distinctions for talented children and young people. Over 75 children from across the country have been honored through the Awards, Scholarships and Honors program, and 10 of them have won the Foundation’s Chance for Talent Grand Prize.
Laureates for 2016

Nurgyul Ilhanova Salimova, 6-th grade, “Vasil Levski” school, Kreptcha
World champion in chess gets the Grand prize of the Foundation “Chance for talent 2016” for outstanding achievement in the field of chess.
Significant achievements for the past two years: 2015 – World champion in chess for girls up to 12 years; State champion for girls up to 12 years (Classic chess); State champion for girls up to 12 years (Rapid chess); Bronze medal for boys up to 12 years (Blitz); Silver Medal of the State Championship for Women with the team of Burgas 64; State champion of school teams championship of ,, Vasil Levski” school Krepcha, Champion of the EU for boys and girls up to 12 years; Champion of the state team championship up to 12 years with the team of Burgas 64; 5th place at the European Championship for girls to 12 years; 2016 – State champion for girls under 18 (Classic chess); State champion for the girls under 18 (Rapid chess); State champion for girls under 18 (Blitz);

Anika Marinova Shinikova, 11-th grade, School of Mathematics, Blagoevgrad
Individual cash prize for excellent performance at republican Olympiads, competitions in the field of philosophy.
Significant achievements for the past two years: First place in XIX-th school philosophical conference “MAN – WORLD” 2014-2015; First place and gold medal in the National Olympiad in philosophy 2014-2015; First place and gold medal of the XX-th school philosophical conference “MAN – WORLD” 2015-2016; Third place and bronze medal at the National Olympiad in philosophy 2015-2016.

Kristian Vasilev Todorov, 7-th grade, “Hristo Botev” school, Gorna Malina
Individual cash prize for excellent performance on republican Olympiads, contests and competitions in the field of music.
Significant achievements for the past two years: In 2015 – third place in the competition for romantic music “American protégé”, New York, USA; First place at the 11th National Children’s and Youth competition with international participation for Music and Dance “Orpheus gift”; First place and special prize “Andrei Stoyanov” on the IV International Competition for Pianist-amateurs “Vivapiano”; First place on the II national children’s festival-competition “New Piano”, Sofia; First place on VIII Festival-Contest “With the wings of music,” and a special prize – a master class of prof. Ludmil Angelov and Special Prize “Maria Dinolova” on the same competition. 2016 – First place at an international competition “Piano Craiova”, Craiova, Romania; Second place at the national competition with international participation “Orpheus gift”; First place at the international piano competition-amateurs “Vivapiano” – Sofia and second in a duo for four hands in the same competition.

Dimitar Yasenov Oparlakov, 8-th grade, “Peter Beron” mathematics school, Varna
Individual cash prize for excellent performance on national and international Olympiads, contests and competitions in mathematics.
Significant achievements: Dimitar is a finalist in the “Prizes, scholarships and awards” for the second consecutive year. For the period April 2015 – April 2016 he won an impressive ten medals: 2 silver from international competitions – a second Iranian Olympiad in geometry and the International Teenage Mathematical Olympiad in Malaysia (ITMO); 5 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals from national competitions, among them: first place and a gold medal with the maximum points on 24th mathematical tournament “Ivan Salabashev”, First place and a gold medal with maximum points of National Mathematics Competition “Atanas Radev”, Yambol; First place and gold medal of Mathematical Competition “Hitar Petar”, Gabrovo; First place on 24th mathematical tournament “Free University”; First place and a gold medal with the maximum points on 20th mathematical tournament “Academic Kiril Popov”, Shumen.

Yasen Ivanov Malevski, 5-th grade, “Peter Beron” school, Plovdiv
Individual cash prize for talented kid with limited financial resources for achievements in sport dancing.
Significant achievements for the past two years: Silver medal in category mini-duet in qualifiers for the World Dance Cup 2016; Silver Medal in category solo for children at Dance Sport Festival, Veliko Tarnovo; Two gold medals in solo category and a gold medal in duet category in qualifiers for the Dance World Cup 2016; Two gold medals in solo category for children in Sofia Dance Fest, March 2016.

Mathew Petkov Mashkov, 7-th grade, “Baba Tonka” school, Ruse
Individual cash prize for talented children with limited financial opportunities for achievements in the field of physics.
Significant achievements for the past two years: Second place at the III-rd International Olympiad in experimental physics EPO 3 – “Day of the resistor”, Kumanovo 30.10.2015; Third prize in the National Competition in Physics, 2015, C. Veliko Tarnovo; Second prize at the national competition in Physics 12 to 13 March 2016 in Burgas; First place at the National Physics Olympiad 2016.

Paolina Stoyanova Gadjulova, 11-th grade, “Kiril Popov” mathematics school, Plovdiv
Individual cash prize for talented children with limited financial opportunities for achievements in the field of Informatics.
Significant achievements: National Spring Tournament in Informatics, Plovdiv – first place and a gold medal; Winter competitions in Informatics 2015, Veliko Tarnovo – second place – silver medal; National Spring Tournament in Informatics 2015, Yambol – second place and a silver medal; Third place in the National ranking of competitors in informatics in age group – 10 grade.
Conferences: Students conference 2015 – award for excellent performance and an invitation for an interview with RSI (Research Science Institute); Students section 2015 – award for excellent performance and an invitation to participate in summer research school 2015; Students conference 2016 – award for excellent performance and an invitation for an interview with RSI (Research Science Institute) and a diploma for scientific guidance of excellent project submitted by the student; Students section 2016 – award for excellent performance and an invitation to participate in summer research school 2016 and diploma mentoring excellent project submitted by the student.
National contest “Young Talents” 2015, Sofia – winner – an invitation and participation in the European Union Contest for Young Scientists 2015, Milan, Italy; National competition “Fair Science and Innovation-Innofair” 2015 – Laureate and prize “Intel Excellence in Computer Science”, invitation and participation in the Intel ISEF, Phoenix, USA; National contest “Young Talents”, 2016, Sofia – Laureate of the BAI award.
