Annual Awards for 2022

The annual awards project “Chance for the Talent” aims to support the training and performance of talented children and young people in the sciences, humanities, arts, technology as a stage in the process of continuous learning, education and development. For 14 years we have supported individual awards and distinctions for talented children and young people. Over 75 children from across the country have been honored through the Awards, Scholarships and Honors program, and 10 of them have won the Foundation’s Chance for Talent Grand Prize.

Laureates for 2022

Kristina Encheva, 4th grade, “Vicho Grancharov” Secondary School, Gorna Oryahovitsa


Individual monetary award for excellent performance at national or international Olympiads, contests, competitions in the field of musical art.

“I love music since I was little. I was 6 years old when I first participated in a competition as a solo artist and I was ranked 1st and 3rd. That motivates me. Every talent develops with hard work and perseverance. When I’m on stage, I mostly want to touch people’s hearts with my performance. The audience fuels and motivates me further. Every single success and every single award gives me strength and desire to develop and move forward. My dream is to sing on big stages and I sincerely hope it will come true!”

In the academic year 2021/2022, Christina won over 50 prizes in international and national competitions in the field of musical art, the most significant of which are: from the KARNOLSKY SUMMER CAMP INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL – August 19-22, 2021: First place – diploma and medal in the “Rock” category in the second age group, First place – diploma and medal in the “Jazz” category in the second age group /the only in the category/, the special prize for the competition from STUDIO MELODIA for overall performance – diploma and cup /the only winner/; International competition “River notes” – GRAND PRIX – diploma and plaque in the second age group /the only one/ in the category “Individual performers”; XIX international competition for young pop artists “Silver Yantra” – second online edition in September 2021 – first place with a diploma and a statuette in the category “World Hit” in the age group 9-12 years; SOFIA GRAND PRIX: grand prix junior – for the contest diploma and cup, first place – diploma and medal category “Golden Bulgarian hits”, first place – diploma and medal category “Songs from musicals and films”, first place – diploma and medal category “World Hit”; Winner of the “Absolute Favorite” title at the International Music Academy “Note by Note” competition – Pazardzhik 2021; International Sofia Festival “The Crossroads of the Muses” November 2021: grand prix of the festival section “Solo vocal” /the only winner/ – diploma and plaque, first place – diploma and medal in the category “Native language song”, first place – diploma and medal in the “World Hit” category, first place – diploma and medal in the “Jazz” category and many more.

Lachezar Tomov, 3rd grade, “Vasil Aprilov” Elementary School, Burgas


Individual monetary award for excellent performance at national or international Olympiads, contests, competitions in the field of mathematics.

“I love mathematics very much and willingly participate in all mathematics competitions, where I take prizes and honors. I have been participating in math competitions since I was five years old and have won 113 prizes so far. I like solving all kinds of problems – logic, arithmetic, combinatorics, but I like geometry the most. In the future, I want to improve my knowledge in the field of mathematics and have many more successes.”

For the academic year 2021/2022, Lachezar has won 33 awards from national and international competitions in the field of mathematics, the most significant of which are: First place – third grade – Qualification (national) round of the Philippine International Mathematics and Science Olympiad (PIMSO ); First place – third grade (group 3-4 grades, in English) – Southeast Asian Mathematical Olympiad 2021 (SEAMO); First place – third class – Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad – qualification (TIMO – Heat round 2021); First place – third grade (in English) – Online International Math Challenge; First place – third class – Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Mathematics Olympiad (Big Bay Bei heat round); First place – second class – Future Intelligence International Olympiad in “mathematics” (FISO); First place – third class – qualification round of the Hong Kong International Science Olympiad (HKISO); First place (champion) – third grade (in English) – International Math Olympiad Challenge (third round); Second place – Grade 3-4 (in English) – Southeast Asian Mathematical Olympiad 2021 X (SEAMO X) and others.

Marina Katsarska, 5th grade, National Art School “Panayot Pipkov”, Pleven


A monetary award for talented children/youths with limited financial means who have achieved particular success in the field of visual arts.

“In the last five years, I have won hundreds of awards from national and international competitions. I like painting with watercolors, reading fairy tales and walking in nature the most. There, in the midst of nature, I also became passionate about photography. Nature is my creative inspiration – the rising sun, plants, animals, and in general the beauty that surrounds us. I wish we humans weren’t so careless about our home, the Earth. This is how I perceive the world – beautiful, colorful and motley and I am very happy that through my works I can express myself and make people smile and feel happy.”

For the year 2021/2022, Marina has won many awards, the most significant of which are: the highest award from the international children’s drawing competition “World Peace 2022”, Bangladesh; Creative Diamond Artist (FIRST place) of the International Children’s Drawing Competition Creative brilliance 2021, Picasso Art Contest in India; LAUREATE in the TOP 10 of the most talented children artists of Bulgaria, who took part in the international competitions for children’s creativity International Painter Award, organized in 2021. from Charumela Art School, Bangladesh; LAUREATE in the International Online Competition “How To Make Peace On Earth 2021”, organized by Charumela Art School, Bangladesh; LAUREATE in the TOP 100 of the world among 10,000 participants, organized by the Charumela Art School, Bangladesh and many others.

Nikola Katsarski, 5th grade, National Art School “Panayot Pipkov”, Pleven


A monetary award for talented children/youths with limited financial means who have achieved particular success in the field of visual arts.

“I perform in the field of art. In the last five years, I have received hundreds of awards from national and international competitions in Literature, Applied Art, Painting and Digital Drawings. I adore art. My interest in drawing started in kindergarten, and in literature, applied art and digital painting in school. Creating gives me great pleasure and calms me down. Our beautiful nature, birds, bees and all kinds of animals; the summer; late fall are my inspiration. I really wish more people would understand that we need to protect the nature around us so that our world is colorful, motley, fragrant and beautiful. I can’t draw on any subject. I need my creation to excite me, to feel it with my soul and heart. My favorite topics are friendship, traditions, ecology, plant and animal species. I dream of becoming a world famous artist one day. I dream that my paintings bring smiles, warmth, positivity and happiness to people.”

For 2021/2022, Nikola has won many prize places, the most significant of which are: the highest distinction from the international children’s drawing competition “World Peace 2022”, Bangladesh; Creative Gold Artist (SECOND place) in the International Children’s Drawing Contest Creative Brilliance 2021, Picasso Art Contest in India; TOP 10 award to the most talented children artists of Bulgaria, who took part in the international contests for children’s creativity International Painter Award, organized in 2021. from Charumela Art School, Bangladesh; special prize of the jury for creativity in the competition “Christmas – the feast of joy”, Serbia; LAUREATE in the International Online Competition “How To Make Peace On Earth 2021”, organized by Charumela Art School, Bangladesh; the special award, the highest honor, above the first place in the National contest for drawing, computer drawing and photography “The sea is not for a vacation” and many more.

Iveta Pophristova, 7th grade, “Vicho Grancharov” Secondary School, Gorna Oryahovitsa


A monetary award for talented children/youths with limited financial means who have achieved particular success in the field of musical art.

‘My love and passion is folk singing. I have been singing since I was very young and participating in competitions. It taught me hard work, perseverance and discipline. I love the folk song because it “tells” about past times, about hard work, love and freedom of people. The song takes me to a better world. Every new song is a challenge for me and makes me strive for perfection. Unfortunately, the folk song is no longer so appreciated, but I want to show that IT makes us better, more humble and loved. By singing a song, I show how beautiful and great Bulgaria is and how people should love and support each other.”
The most significant achievements of Iveta for the academic year 2021/2022 are: International competition Ukraine “My dream world 2021” – 1st place; International online competition E-Fest – 1st place and prize from Elitsa Todorova; BNR -1st place in “Young Folklore Talents” / upcoming participation in BNR/ and others.

Radoslav Karaulanov, 4th grade, “Dobri Chintulov” Elementary School, Varna


A monetary award for talented children/youths with limited financial means who have achieved particular success in the field of literary creativity.

“The field I am interested in is literary creation. It was born in my preschool age. Inspired by the Bulgarian and world classics, I started writing my first works, including riddles, fairy tales and short poems. Later I created my comedy play “At the Pool”. I am the author of over seventy poems, which I have collected in my collection of poems “Bagri”, which I dream of publishing in the future. In the long term, my future plans are related to professional realization in the field of literary creativity and dramaturgy.”

For the academic year 2021/2022, Radoslav has won many awards, the most significant of which are: a special award from the XVIII International Competition for Poetry and Theater “Castello di Duino” – Trieste, Italy; special award from the XV National Mockingbird Competition, Kazanlak; first prize from the International Competition “I Love the Black Sea”, Nessebar, 2021; first prize from the National Competition “People’s Alarm Clocks and I” – Haskovo, 2021. and many more.

Demira Nedeva, 9th grade, School of Mathematics “Acad. Kiril Popov”, Plovdiv


A monetary award for talented children/youth with limited financial means who have achieved particular success in the field of mathematics. The prize money is provided by Inner Wheel Club Burgas.

“Mathematics continues to be my passion and I have attended many national and international competitions this academic year. What’s new and different is that I started doing math as a science, not just a competitive problem. I developed a project that was awarded at many national and international forums. I am most happy that after a selection I was chosen to be the only representative of Bulgaria in the field of mathematics at the International Conference of Young Scientists with virtual host Serbia.”
