The Forgotten Stoyan Shivachev –
One of the Remarkable Builders of Burgas
The “Chance for the Children and Nature of Bulgaria” Foundation received funding from the Culture Fund of Burgas Municipality to implement the project “The Forgotten Stoyan Shivachev – One of the Remarkable Builders of Burgas.”
The activities will involve youth participants from the creative writing club “For the Flying People” at the Center for Young Talents in Burgas, under the guidance of Dr. Dobrina Topalova.
The initiative aims to revive the memory of Stoyan Shivachev – an important yet little-known figure in the history of Burgas. Born in Malko Tarnovo in the mid-19th century, Shivachev was an intellectual, teacher, and public figure who played an active role in shaping the socio-political life of Burgas.
Through this project, citizens of Burgas will have the opportunity to rediscover this remarkable historical personality and his contribution to the development of the city and the region.
The project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2025.
