Information for project:
Timeframe : 2024 – 2027
DCYDE! Digital Global Citizenship Education for Youngsters and Educators in Partnership, or simply “DCYDE!”, brings together the efforts of 11 partner countries in the creation of Digital Global Citizenship Education (D-GCE). The project’s main focus is on building the capacity of teachers and educational institutions to integrate Global Citizenship Education (GCE) into schools and the modern youth society.
DCYDE! addresses the lack of sustainability in educational systems, the strong fragmentation, and the limited access in different European countries. It equips young people with the knowledge and tools to tackle global issues and contribute to positive change.
As part of the project, hybrid learning environments (physical and online spaces) will be developed, focusing on the most pressing topics and issues such as climate change, gender equality, bullying, and more.
In mid-October, the kick-off meeting for DCYDE! was held in Erfurt, Germany. Over the course of two days, our team exchanged experience and ideas with European partners. We discussed the next steps, planned upcoming activities, and outlined a shared vision for success.
One of the project’s key events will take place between May 19–21 in Vienna, Austria—a set of seminars and training sessions for educators, aimed at transferring knowledge to the local level and integrating it into daily practice. A group of 11 participants from Bulgaria will take part in the three-day program, which will also include a networking event and an internal meeting for project managers and coordinators.
Our educators include professionals from various fields of education, youth organizations, and socially engaged platforms. Thanks to the skills acquired in Vienna, they will be able to effectively pass on the knowledge through their networks, reaching as many young people as possible. In turn, the young participants will be encouraged to create their own projects within the DCYDE! hybrid learning environment.
